What will you learn

This course presents an in-depth look at the most important yet abused skeletal muscle in the human body, the Psoas.

Located deep within the front hip joint and lower spine, the psoas is critical for optimal postural alignment, movement and overall well-being. Its function and importance extend beyond anatomical mechanics to the nerve complex and energy systems.

Taking a uniquely holistic approach, this course explores how the psoas affects the health of the body, mind and spirit.  The course covers an insight in how we use the psoas and how we take care of it. It teaches how to release this muscle to create balance, harmony and freedom of movement.

The course is devided in 3 parts.

Part 1 covers the anatomy and biomechanics of the psoas area. It teaches about maintaining a healthy psoas and covers several back issues like strain and lower back pain.

Part 2 is about the psoas and emotions. Learn about the gut-brain connection and somatic memory.

Part 3 covers the psoas and spirituality, also referred to as ‘ energetic anatomy’. How can you understand the psoas in relation to the chakra’s? This part also covers a numerous amount of yoga postures and is helpful when designing classes or guiding students 1 to 1.
